"Fay" contains an enchanting interplay of soft purple shades combined with bright, playful pink tones and fine speckles. The color has a magical lightness to it, which gives the finished knit a vibrant and personal look. The strong wool blend makes the yarn suitable for both durable socks and luxurious everyday clothing.

Yarn Substitutes (1:1 Replacement in Patterns)
This classic 4-ply sock yarn matches a standard Fingering gauge (approx. 28–30 sts = 10 cm on 2,5 mm needles) and can directly replace popular commercial yarns:
- Filcolana Arwetta Classic (get a unique, hand-dyed interplay of colors instead of a solid color)
- Sandnes Sisu
- Drops Fabel
Great pattern suggestions:
- Socks: Perfect for luxury socks with a beautiful interplay of colors like Everyday Socks (PetiteKnit) or Hermione's Everyday Socks. 1 skein (50g) is enough for ankle socks or smaller sizes (2 skeins are recommended for adult socks with long cuffs).
- Sweaters & Cardigans: Great on its own on 3 mm needles for fine, lightweight tops like Ankers Sommer Bluse (PetiteKnit), or combined with a mohair companion yarn for, e.g. No Frills Sweater or Kumulus Bluse.
- Hats & Scarves: Ideal for Sophie Scarf or for Oslohuen (knitted together with a strand of mohair).
Washing & Care
- Washing instructions: Can be machine washed on a gentle wool cycle (cold/30°C) thanks to the Superwash treatment. Dry flat.
- Excess dye: Since the yarn is hand-dyed in small batches, a little excess dye may occur during the first wash (especially with deep pink and purple shades). Always wash dark and light colors separately.
Good to know about hand-dyed yarn
Sisters, not twins
This yarn is hand-dyed with passion.
Skeins from the same dye bath are like sisters – they look alike and have a lot in common, but every single skein is also its own unique work of art.
That is the beauty of hand-dyed yarn.
Tip: For larger projects, it is recommended to alternate between two skeins on every other row to achieve a beautiful and even color distribution.
